Chagford Show 2008

Some say the horse classes are the best thing at Chagford Show. Whilst for others...

...the highlight of the day has to be the dog races. Good Luck Penny !

Lots of starting the race advice being given out at the line up as owners prepare their dogs.

Then a reminder of the rules. "Any dog setting off before the whistle will be disqualified".

All eyes eagerly waiting for the Steward's whistle......

...and they're off ! Not a bad start, most wet noses heading in the right direction.

Then, oh dear, canine chaos sets in. Jeff Arscott and his Gran Sylvia in the crowd, enjoying the fun.

Chagford Show is usually held on the third Thursday of August.
The Show Day in 2008 was blessed with perfect weather. No rain and not desperately hot. Friends and family meeting up to admire the farm stock and horses, a craft tent stuffed with all manner of clever arts and bakery. A tractor parade, vintage cars lined up for folks to reminisce over. Flags, bunting, rosettes and clipboards, all adding to the excitement.
